Re: Introduce yourself!

Claire

Very late to the party....

Hi, everyone! I'm Claire O'Dell, and I write the Janet Watson Chronicles, a near future SF/Mystery/Political Thriller series from Harper Voyager. So far the series is only two books, but I have a proposal for a third waiting for my editor's response. (Not that I'm anxious or anything.)

I currently live in CT with my spouse of 27 years, but we're thinking about moving to Arizona. Maybe. The thought of transporting our two cats cross country dismays me, I admit. In my other life, I had a 30+ year career in software development, but I'm shifting over to full-time writing, with occasional bouts of contracting.

And if I can squee here a bit, I just found out that my first Janet Watson book is a finalist for the Lammys! *makes excited noises*

OutWrite sounds terrific, and if I were not going to be away on vacation that weekend, I would love to be there.  Another year, for sure!

Meredith and John,
Thanks for the info on OutWrite.

I’m thinking about submitting.

OutWrite is a great event!  I've been doing panels/readings/workshops for several years. I also run workshops throughout the year under the "OutWrite" umbrella.

Catherine, it's open to all!  Here's a link to the panel and reading request form.

Is OutWrite DC an LGBTQ event? Is it open to all?

Hey there Catherine!

If you're on your computer, look to the menu on the left and scroll down to "Calendar."

Bess, I’m not sure what this is. Is there a way to see the calendar.

My third book in the Charlie Mack Motown Mystery series will launch this month (19th). Thanks for the prompt.  I'd appreciate any boosting folks would be comfortable doing. I'll put it up on Twitter during the month (cheaddc) and Instagram (cheadwrites).  Thanks, also to Kristen Lepionka for the opportunity to be interviewed in the Mystery Tribune.

Thanks all.

Thank you for tracking down this information, Bess. I'm going to pass it on to a few people I know in Dallas.
Cheers,

Hi Bess,
Sadly I am not attending BCon this year, but if there is a way to be involved, please let me know - should be exciting!

Hi all!  I just bought my ticket last week.  I’ll be there, and it would be great if we could all meet up somewhere.  I’m glad B-Con is working on inclusivity.  Ive never been to a B-Con before, but I’m really excited for it!

Hi,
I’m also planning to be at B’con this year.

Did anyone else see that BCon this year got a table for Pride, in an effort to reach out to queer writers? I'm really impressed with their dedication to "y'all means all." When I met one of the board members at BCon 2018 she was really interested in learning about adding pronouns to name badges too.

Will anyone else be attending this year?

Hi, Bess,

I'll be at B-con this year. That's exciting about a Pride table. I didn't see that notification. I'd love to be involved, of course.
